M.A. in LLCL: French & Teaching of french
The M.A. concentrations in French and Teaching of French provide advanced study of the French language, literature, and culture. The French concentration focuses on literary analysis and critical theory. The Teaching of French concentration focuses on the pedagogy of teaching French as a second language.
French Concentration (thesis):
- Requires a minimum of 30 credits, including 6 credits for thesis work:
- In the last semester of study, students defend an M.A. thesis.
French Concentration (non-thesis):
- Requires a minimum of 36 credits:
- In the last semester of study, students complete comprehensive written examinations.
Teaching of French Concentration (non-thesis):
- Requires a minimum of 36 credits, including course work in foreign language pedagogy.
- In the last semester of study, students complete comprehensive written examinations.
